Student Talks – Jesus is Better than Superheroes
Jesus Christ is by far the most fascinating person who ever lived. That is why people all over the world for thousands of years have been thinking and talking about Him! Now, some of those thoughts and talks have been wrong. In fact, throughout history the Church has often had to say to folks, “Ah, no, that’s not true about Jesus. You are wrong. Here’s what is true about Him.”
In this study we are going to consider some wrong views about Jesus. And we are going to do that by looking at superheroes. Now, that may seem crazy, but this is a good way to study who Jesus really is. You see, when people have wrong views of Jesus, it’s usually because they have let their imaginations run crazy—which is also the same way that authors come up with superheroes!
So, we are going to look at different superheroes, then we are going to look at a wrong view of Jesus that is similar to a superhero. We will finish each talk with seeing how Jesus is so much better than any and every superhero. That’s because the real Jesus is better than anyone can imagine!

Student Talks – Huper – The Story of Jesus
What’s the difference between the story of Jesus and the story of Abraham Lincoln? Of course, the details are different. But are both of their stories just facts about what they did in history?
Jesus’ story is called “Good News” because what he did (and continues to do!) was/is for His people. Every moment of life He was doing for us what we could not do for ourselves. He lived for us. He died for us. He rose again for us. His whole life was a sacrifice that pleased God, His Father.
There’s an old word that our Christian ancestors liked to use when they talked about Jesus’ sacrifice for us: ὑπὲρ. It’s a word that tells the story of someone who gave up themselves to save others.
Jesus is greater than every other awesome person who lived in history because only Jesus could live perfectly, defeat the Evil One, heal all sickness, give us His body and blood for eternal life, and then get up from the grave to continue protecting His people from unseen darkness and powers. And He did it all for us.
